I’m Russell, a second-generation antique dealer. I first got into the trade as a teenager working as a porter in an auction house, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the years, I’ve travelled up and down the country visiting auction houses, antique centres and art sales. Or, as my daughters would say, getting dragged along to them.

That time on the road matters. It’s where the knowledge comes from. It’s how you learn what’s worth buying, what’s worth restoring, and what’s worth passing on.

Forest Mill is the result of all of that. A space where you’ll find a carefully chosen mix of furniture, fine art, clocks and one-off pieces that you won’t see everywhere else. There’s no filler. If it’s here, it’s here for a reason.

Over time, I’ve developed a real passion for fine art, but the truth is, I’ve always been drawn to anything with character. The kind of pieces that start conversations and stick around for generations.

And then there’s Ruby.

Ruby is my sidekick and lucky charm. A Norwegian Forest cat with a strong opinion on comfort and absolutely no interest in doing any actual work. She keeps an eye on things… when she’s not being pampered.
